The tallest skyscraper in the city of Chicago, once the tallest in the United States and the world, standing at 1,730 feet, the Willis Tower is a great sight for tourists and many Chicagoans. If you ever come visit the city of Chicago come and look at theThis building first started construction in 1969 with 350,000 construction workers. A team of an architect Bruce Graham and structural engineer Fazlur Khan designed the building. Two antennas were added to the building to permit local television and radio broadcasts. Steel was first put onto the building in 1971 and building was finally completed in 1973. Construction costs equaled upto a grand total of $150 million of USD at that time which is equivalent to $950 USD in 2005. The tower has a chain of deparment stores including Sears, Roebuck, and Co.

Unfortunately the building did not reach its height or expectations. Sears began removing it's offices in 1992 and they completely vactated out of the building in 1995. After that the building has been bounced around by many owners including Metlife, a Toronto company, and investors. In 2006 7 men were caught planning on destroying the building
