Wrigley Field

If you ever get a chance to come to Chicago then you have to come to Wrigley. This one of the last Federal league ballparks left. Come in and visit the second oldest ball park in the United states. Wrigley Field is one of the many buildings designed by Zachary Taylor Davis. Come and see its art-deco design and many more things.

The field was one of the plans of the new start of Chicago. Wrigley Field was built in an amazing SIX WEEKS! The Field cost about $250,000 which is about $5.3 million today. The idea of the park was from a man whos last name is Wheegman. William Wrigley who was a gum manufacturer bought the cubs and Wheegman moved him and the cubs to Wrigley field. It was the home of the cubs since 1916. Wrigley field was called the Cubs Park from 1920 to about 1926. The scoreboard waqs later installed in 1937. A clock was added to the scoreboard in 1941 and light were added in 1988 when night games were introduced.

Wrigley Field doesn't just host baseball games. The field is also adjusted to an outdoor ice hockey rink that hosted the 2009 winter classic and a football field. The Bears played at Wrigley from 1921 to 1970. In 1970 they were moved to Soldier Field. Wrigley is also the last park to own a hand turned scoreboard.

Wrigley Field is located on 1060 W. Addison Street. The park can hold about 42,150 people. What makes Wrigley Field a little more famous are the ivy covered outfield walls. The main entrance is covered by an art-deco marqee. The best places to sit in Wrigley are the Marqee seats that range from $27 to about $112. If thats too pricy then you can buy the just as good Platinum seats that range from $24 to $100. There are also hotdog stands everywhere and you can always get good food for a decent price.
